Hopetoun Market set for Sunday
Hopetoun and District Neighbourhood House will host a community Market Day this weekend, with organisers expecting a strong turnout as reunion visitors arrive in town.

The market will run on Sunday, March 1, from 9am to 1pm at the Hopetoun Neighbourhood House forecourt, on 75 Lascelles Street.
Organisers say the undercover forecourt will help the event go ahead comfortably even if the weather is uncertain.
Hopetoun and District Neighbourhood House manager Erin Paech said the timing of the market should bring extra activity to town.
“This weekend we have visitors coming to town for the reunion, hopefully the weather is good enough in the morning, but being under the forecourt we will be undercover.”
Ms Paech said about a dozen stallholders had already booked for the event, offering a mix of food, second-hand goods and specialty stalls.
“We have around 12 stall holders booked for their weekend including a food van ‘The Snack Shack’, the usual bric a brac stalls, clothes, books and even tarot reading.”
The market will add to a busy program at the neighbourhood house in the coming weeks.
Ms Paech said the centre was preparing several upcoming activities, including a chemical course, Easter holiday classes, a Commonwealth Bank information session, a mental health course, a second-hand clothing market and a boat licence course.
She also encouraged local residents to share ideas for future activities and events.
“If interested in anything to happen in town, come in and see us and we look into seeing if we can get it happening for the Neighbourhood House.”
Organisers say the Market Day will offer locals and visitors a relaxed way to shop, connect and support community stallholders.
